The funniest thing about this joke is that it was clearly a Democrat joke at first, but you forgot to change the explanation when you hijacked it. As an anti-Republican joke it just doesn't make sense.

There hasn't really been any inflation in the US since the Carter Administration gave way to Reagan and Volker.
