MDP launches Webpage for Septics Bill Implementation:
IMPLEMENTATION GUIDANCE VERSION 2.0 & ONLINE GUIDANCE MAP
Greetings!
I am pleased to unveil a new page on our Planning.Maryland.gov website that focuses on implementation of the Sustainable Growth & Agricultural Preservation Act of 2012, also known as the septics bill and by its bill number, SB 236. This page provides guidance and interactive mapping to assist local governments in putting into place the provisions of the new law.
The SB 236 Implementation page features the updated implementation guidance document (version 2 released today) and a newly released implementation guidance map as well as links to relevant background. Guidance was developed by the Maryland Department of Planning, incorporating comments and questions from local government and other stakeholders.
Along with the guidance document, the online guidance map application provides the key components and map layers to facilitate local jurisdictions in building growth tier maps.
