The 2nd extended stop of the day was to James Madison's home. Even if you are not a big history buff, this place is quite interesting from a historical aspect. We just toured the outside grounds, foregoing the inside tour. It's an impressive place. They are still doing a lot of ongoing digs and such to understand how life unfolded during Madison's time there. Good thing the place was well taken care of after Madison's death. The du Pont family donated the land to the National Trust in 1984.
