Rescue Remedy for Cats?

Time for a nap
I'm hoping someone can help me here...

I'm taking my cat to my parents' house for Thanksgiving (a three hour drive). He usually does pretty well in the car (he just cries a lot, but purrs too), but I want to try to calm him down as much as possible, and I don't have enough time to get to the vet.

A friend of mine recommended "Rescue Remedy," which is supposedly some sort of homeopathic cure for stress. Has anyone heard of this before? If so, how much should I give my cat?

TIA

I would check with your vet. Cats can have strange reactions to certain things....and all cats seem to be different. Persians have problems with many different substances.

Have you tried draping a dark cloth over the carrier? Maybe a dry run around town will determine if this will be enough, and maybe you won't have to drug kitty.

Smart ideas. I definitely don't want to kill kitty by drugging him up!!!

The dark cloth over the carrier might do the trick. Anything to avoid 3 hours of meowing.
