One way cable and Windows XP

We just bought a new computer which came with Windows XP.  We have One way cable through Western Shore, and we cannot get our internet connection to work through XP.  Western Shore doesn't have a clue since XP is new.  They know how to configure 2 way cable and basic dial-up on XP but not One Way cable.  HELP!  I need my connection at home!
