Anyone grow nasturtiums?

I picked up a bunch of nasturtium seeds, and I was wondering if anyone here has experience with them. I'm thinking of planting them in the long-neglected beds in front of my house, but that area is pretty shady. Do they need mostly direct sunlight? Any other ideas for partial-shade flowers? (By the way, there are some tulips, iris, and a rose bush in the front beds that seem to do OK.)

I have grown them several times.  They seem to be pretty sturdy plants.  I have grown them in my herb garden where they received a lot of sun, and needed the water and have also grown them in the hole in the huge tree in front of my house with partial shade.  They tend to "vine" a bit, so you need to trim them back a bit.  The flowers are also eatible and good in salads.
