Waterproofing

Okay, here's my dilemma:

I want to make custom painted garden stones. I'm painting with acrylics on terracotta tiles. My problem is what to seal them with. I need it to be waterproof so the design doesn't get rain damaged.

Any suggestions? The gal at Home Depot says Behr's Wet-Look Sealer. Is there something better or is that it?

Isn't that glossy? Do you want glossy stones?
Yeah, that's fine. What they're going to be are decorative tiles that people put in their garden and such, not for walking on or anything like that.

If they're not waterproof, you can sell them new ones every time it rains.

Why don't you use a paint designed for exterior use in the first place?

I spray painted some outdoor decorations with Fleckstone and used the sealer that they recommend and make. It has a nice matte finish and was very easy to apply. I got it at Michael's and so far it has stood up very well through the weather. I don't know if it will work with your stuff though but it might be worth checking out.
