I went and had my car serviced this afternoon. I mentioned the vanity lights on the driver's side visor stopped working last week and asked them to take a look at it. They said the only option was to replace the ENTIRE visor to a tune of $475!!! :yikes: I politely declined to have it replaced, but I was steaming. :burning:

The car is only 5 years old. I can't believe you just can't change a frigging light bulb in the thing or fix it without having to replace the whole visor. :banghead:

Chrysler

Other than a few minor problems and one that was covered under warranty, the car has been great. But the warranty has now expired. :ohwell:

I should have asked for lube, that's for sure. They said that was the only option and I laughed at them. So much for the service manager being my former neighbor. No break for me. :ohwell:

:lmao: I remember reading there was no such thing as "Corinthian Leather." They made it up because it sounded luxurious.

I do have leather seats and they've freaking HOT in the summer, especially after sitting in the sun with the top down. Owie. :bawl:

I've learned the hard way: that's probably not out of line. If it's not the bulb, it's a broken wire somewhere. At a dealer, you pay full price to replace the whole assembly with factory parts, with dealer labor rates. If you go to a trusted mechanic, they can use used or non-OEM parts, as well as having lower labor rates.

Cars have gotten so complex now that minor repairs are outrageous. Get used to it, because the future of cars is hybrid, then alternative, which will save us at the pump but cost us in the garage.

The Pegster
Jazz - go to the junkyard - they can look in their computer to see if they have any cars like yours there - maybe you can get a working visor out of a wrecked car...

First thing I did. The other things on the circuit still work.
Just thought I'd ask

I could probably fix it, but I don't have a power supply to hook it up to.
