NASCAR Going to Spank Some of Thier Boys

Dupontster

Would THIS face lie?
Looks like NASCAR is going to pass out some spankings to some of the boys that didn't show up in New York....I think that is taking it a little too far....
Linkie

Sometimes I get the impression that NASCAR thinks that they own the people involved...
"It's not clear what NASCAR can do to force drivers to attend the ceremonies. Among the things being considered is revoking the contingency awards that Kahne and Sadler received and giving the money to the runner-ups."

You're just mad cuz Jeffy is gonna get spanked. :killingme

I think they should be spanked. Look at the $$ they make. They should be at their crowning event.

Sometimes movie stars don't show up to pick up their Oscars and nobody tries to spank 'em.

:smack: I can love racers AND movie stars!

It's the same thing though -- not showing up to receive awards they're getting for doing their jobs well -- isn't it?

But wait, there's more...
I can see them getting bent when sponsors (for certain awards like Waste Management "Picking Up Places") shell out the dough to have their name associated with the sport and have the typical "grip-n-grin" pictures for publicity and whatnot. I'd be pissed as a sponsor of an award, ready to hand a check for $100K to someone, and they couldn't even spend $300 for a round-trip ticket. :ohwell:

Now, if there was some sort of serious legitimate reason (death in the family, illness, etc.), that'd be one thing and it'd be understandable, but I don't remember hearing of any aside from the father of one of the crew chiefs.

On the other hand, these folks have lives too, and they entertain the hell out of us for 36 out of 52 weeks each year. :ohwell:

No, because you don't see sponsors for awards on the Emmys and Oscars for things like the Tampax Best Biatchslap. :ohwell:

I'm not bent cause Jeffy is gettin spanked....(He didn't even make the top 10) I can see maybe NASCAR being annoyed but do they have to call someone to the trailer or take their earned award away just because they chose not to attend their show....I don't think it should be in New York either but that's a whole different story...IMO NASCAR thinks that people owe them for letting them race....I've been involved in NASCAR for over 30 years and it isn't the organization that made the drivers....It is the drivers (and owners and teams) that made NASCAR what it is today....Not only Jeffy but a lot of other names too....$.02....

:yeahthat:

I do believe the drivers owe it to the fans to make some kinda of appeareance. I missed the show this year. Could they have done a live feed from paris for the pink panty boy? i am disappointed in Sadler and Dale Jr. but I think once I work through the depression and all I will be able to get out of bed sometime today :sarcasm:
