Anybody ever try "Tabata" intervals?

The concept is simple, pick an exercise and perform it for 20 seconds at MAXIMUM intensity followed by 10 seconds rest, repeat 8 times (4 minutes total).

I picked squat jumps. Four minutes is going to be a piece of cake right? WRONG!! :barf:

I did three tabatas last night. one jump roping, one high knees jumps and one speed squats.

12 min and I was sweating and ready to quit. my new favorite thing!

best thing, youtube has some vids with perfectly timed music..with audible cues for the rest and work periods. I dont even have to watch an interval timer. :yahoo:

I hate jump squats. I hate burpees even more. My back starts hurting everytime I try to do those.
