Cleaned my chain (finally) and then oiled it with DuPont Teflon multi-use lube.
Little sloppy going on, use some newspaper to catch the drips and over spray. It's a very thin liquid that dries leaving the teflon behind. It's not sticky like most chain lubes, so it shouldn't pick up sand and dirt. Got it at Lowes, heard Ace Hardware also carries it.

I use the same type of spray in my work. Robotic tape backup systems. It does a great job without getting gummy or collecting any foriegn material. Should be great on a chain!

I wonder how well it would do for bicycle chains? (Most of the best motorcycle chain lubes don't work very well on bicycles for a variety of reasons, and the best bicycle chain lubes are unsatisfactory for motorcycles.)
