So how's he doing in NASCAR so far? I hear he's replacing Casey Mears in the #42. Please correct me if I'm wrong, I don't follow NASCAR much.
No correction required. He finished 3rd I believe in his first Arca race. Got caught up in a wreck in his second. Guess he's doing okay.Bustem' Down said:So how's he doing in NASCAR so far? I hear he's replacing Casey Mears in the #42. Please correct me if I'm wrong, I don't follow NASCAR much.
Cool, I liked him when he drove for McLaren-Mercedes in F1 and wanna still follow him. His replacement, Pedro De La Rosa, has been a little lackluster so far, and Kimi has had a bad season.Dutch6 said:No correction required. He finished 3rd I believe in his first Arca race. I'm losing interest in NASCAR with the addition of Toyota and foreign drivers.Bustem' Down said:Cool, I liked him when he drove for McLaren-Mercedes in F1 and wanna still follow him. His replacement, Pedro De La Rosa, has been a little lackluster so far, and Kimi has had a bad season.
Check out WRC (World Rally Cup) They're racing stock* cars on dirt/gravel courses and there ain't no rain delays.Dutch6 said:I'm losing interest in NASCAR with the addition of Toyota and foreign drivers.

NASCAR was traditionally good ole southern boys racing Fords, Chevys and Dodges. They got rid of the Fords, Chevys and Dodges and now they're phasing out the good ole boys.Michael Delaney said:Why?.

Honda is the biggest US exporter of cars to JapanGummie said:I recently saw a comparison between a Ford Mustang and a Toyota Sienna's components from the U.S. or Canada:
Mustang - 65% Sienna - 90%
At least Toyota is outsourcing to the US.

Now, instead of knowing two races from the end of the year who's gonna win the cup, it's literally down to the last lap of the last race.
If Toyota's racing means you're gonna throw a hissy fit and not watch any more, it's all good ... free's up a seat at the track for me!

True. When they stopped using stock cars they shifted the focus onto the drivers and kept up interest in their competition instead of the traditional Ford/Chevy/Dodge manufacturer competition. I think that if their core fan base can't pronounce the driver's names after drinking a 6 pack, it's going to hurt NASCAR's popularity.AndyMarquisLIVE said:there's lots of money to be made.

AndyMarquisLIVE said:I don't think Juan Pablo Montoya will do that good in Nextel Cup. Plenty of guys have had success in ARCA and not done well in NASCAR: Frank Kimmell (the undisputed king of NASCAR) and Stuart Kirby off the top of my head. Although, I'm not gonna take much away from Stuart he could've done well if he weren't with these ####ty ass teams.
How and when did Frank Kimmell who hasn't made it past ARCA become "(the undisputed king of NASCAR)"????AndyMarquisLIVE said:I don't think Juan Pablo Montoya will do that good in Nextel Cup.
