I enjoyed the train ride. I could just sit there staring out the window viewing the mountains, river, waterfalls, all the beauty of the place without fear of driving myself off the mountain while staring. There were so many breath taking views. On some of my travels driving up and down the mountain there were many times I just wanted to stop and take it all in but, there was no place one could pull over.
The online version of the cabin differed from the up close and personal. These places are not cheap and you pay to have certain things. After arriving found a note saying "dishwasher is broke do not use" I thought, no problem I do dishes at home, hardly ever use my dishwasher.
Things that awaited for me to find on my own that also did not work:
1. The hot tub out on the deck (wouldn't heat up)
2. Heat in the place would've been nice since the temps dipped down in the 30's at night (days were just right)
3. DVD player
4. Chimney thingy on deck where one would normally build a fire for some warmth had giant hole so no logs could be placed.
5. Never found the outside grill that was posted on the deck in the online picture. I was really looking forward to cooking a steak out there.
6. Plain ole electricity would've been sweet to have. For some reason at night the breakers would pop. The first night was a trip walking, tripping, fumbling, stumbling in the dark around an unfamiliar place looking for the breaker box and being thrilled when finally thinking one found it only to discover that the place must have two and oh where oh where could it be. Ah, who'd a thunk it would be behind that big ole mirror.
The list kinda goes on, but I'll stop.
I just told myself, survive the night for day would come and I could go exploring again. Most beautiful mountains I have ever seen.
