Okay, three words: READ THE BOOK.

The 2 friends I took with me to see this, haven't read the book and they were like "uh, okay......"
I read the book, and was SO utterly disappointed with the movie. I would say about 75% of the book content is MIA, and one very HUGE part of the story is completely different in an absurd way. In my opinion the movie comes off as "cheesy" at best. I can't believe Steven King allowed this to be done to his story, and I can't believe Morgan Freeman acted in it...especially because his character was cut so drastically.
Acting wasn't great either....save a few bucks...buy the book instead.
Sorry if you liked it...I'm still fuming over my $7.75 I wasted.

Stephen King has always allowed major editing when his books are made into movies. I've read 30+ of his books (most of which I liked) but there are only two of his movies that I really enjoyed. Stand By Me and The Green Mile. No offense but you should have expected it, the book was pretty thick, it would have made for a really long movie.

Did you see the T.V. versions of The Tommyknockers and The Stand? Talk about cheesy and utterly disappointing.
