107-year-old woman weds 86-year-old beau

SANTIAGO (AFP) - After living together for 57 years, Isolina Ojeda, 107, of Chile and her 86-year-old lover decided to make it official, tying the knot here this week, local media reported.

Slightly hard of hearing, it took Ojeda a moment to say her "I do," which she eventually declared loud and clear, according to people attending the civil ceremony in Santiago's La Florida district on Wednesday.

"We had to get married, as God intended. It's a sin to live the way we were living," the blushing bride told the daily El Mercurio after the ceremony.

This is the second marriage for both Ojeda and her groom, Oscar Martinez. The pair met in the 1940s, after their spouses died.
