Hi, I have a 0910 flight in the morning and I'm debating the best route to take. I don't drive to Reagan that often, but was going to go Rt. 235/Rt.238/Rt.210/I-95S across the Woodrow Wilson Bridge.
Mapquest, Google Maps etc. all show the route via 235/5
"Turn RIGHT onto US-301 N / CRAIN HWY / BLUE STAR MEMORIAL HWY"
"Stay STRAIGHT to go onto BRANCH AVE / MD-5 N"
"Turn LEFT onto AUTH RD"
"Merge onto I-495 S / I-95 S / CAPITAL BELTWAY toward RICHMOND / ALEXANDRIA (Passing through DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA- then crossing into VIRGINIA)"
"Merge onto US-1 N via EXIT 177B toward ALEXANDRIA"
"Merge onto VA-233 E toward NATIONAL AIRPORT"
Which is better? I was going to leave at 0500, is that enough time to get to Reagan by 0730?
*I normally fly out of BWI*
Thanks :huggy:

I would allow a little extra time because that is rush hour and the wilson bridge can be a nightmare from time to time in the morning.

That should be enough time I think. I know you will be up and on the road before the sun shines. Whenever my mom and I went and we had early flights we would always plan 3hrs for the wilson bridge. Y0u might be there before the 3hrs since it takes 2hrs on a good day from here to there.

Thanks - I rarely travel that route during rush hour - This may sound like I'm from another planet, but when does rush hour kick in? Around 0600?

I drive that route every morning.... Takes me exactly 2 hours, to Western Alexandria on a good day. 3 hours is actually a good bet. :huggy:

The rush starts at 530 by 7:00 the ramp will be backed all the way up to 295.
Plan on sitting on 210 off and on after you pass the YMCA. You'll also sit for 15 minutes getting on to Rt. 1
Not a bad drive if you crank up the radio.

Just as follow up - I left at 0530 & got to National at 0710. Plenty of time
I did the 210 route across the Wilson Bridge and traffic was not bad at all. Just a little backed up about half way down Rt. 210 to I-95 ramp.
Coming home - (at 0330 Sat) I made it in an hour.
Thanks again for everyone's assistance.:howdy:
