Is this possible on a cell phone, anyone experienced it? Started a couple of weeks ago and is intermitent. Also, at times the phone only shows a partial display.

TIA

Sounds like your phone is dying. Son had that on a Nextel and they sent him a new phone.

What kind of phone? And have you tried a hard re-set?

I understand phonew like the TREO do it a lot, and you have to re-set them to get them to work again..

Have you dropped your phone? Sometimes the battery partially loses contact and you end up getting blue screen. Try pushing the battery the next time that happens.

THIS PHONE IS GARBAGE!!!
by Azaria

I gave this phone HALF of a point, and that was only for good reception-on good days. This phone is complete garbage, thanks Verizon.

-Silent/Vibrate NEVER work. Not fun when you are in class, and your phone randomly goes off. I took it to Verizon and they just gave me a new, but still, crappy vx5200-and this one does the same exact thing.

-NO ringtones....unless you want to pay $3.00 for them. On my old VX6000 I could make my own, or send them to my phone...not on this one. Unless you buy some program and a USB cable and work your magic, your stuck with sucky ringtones.

-Camera-is terrible unless you are in a well lit area

-Phone doesn't ring loud enough...and doesn't ring at all when open.

-The theme colors are hideous....how do you have 4 themes but only 2 colors (red and blue?) Again on my vx6000 i had everything from green to purple.

-Sending a text message is a pain

-Phone randomly freezes up..have to take the battery out and put back in

-Scratches VERY easily...(not like my VX6000) and I too have a spot where the cheap blue paint rubbed off under the screen

-Battery life? Please. If you really use your phone, it will be dead before the end of the day.

I am looking for a new phone, or reverting back to my LG VX6000 because I can't take it anymore. I can't wait until my contract is up because Verizon isn't the best that's out there anymore, and most of their phones now are complete crap...like this one.

From a phone review site.. Apparently what you are eperiencing is nothing new for that phone..

Since their carrier will be AT&T (Cingular), I would think any AT&T store.

However, I'd wait it out. There's going to be a crazy rush for these things.

My husband was going to get one for me, but I told him I don't need that fancy stuff.

Both my husbands and my phone have done that. I took them to Verizon and they just gave us new ones. I think it was something to do with the software.

You were able to trade in your husbands at the Verizon store? Wonder if they take wives too?

The new iPhone does not have the latest phone chips according to Steve Jobs. But there will be new iPhone models coming out with the new phone chips. That tidbit was on Fox and Friends.

:howdy:

Nextel has a little do hicky thing that can transfer info from nextel to nextel. I would imagine Verizon would have something similar

Go to "Get it Now" Download the Back-up Assistant.. It will back up your entire contact list online, and you can go to verizonwireless.com to update your contacts, import adress lists, or just add a single contact. This way if your phone ever just craps out, you can recover your contacts onto your new phone.

Thanks Bob, will I need an interface cable for the cell phone?

Nope, it's all done through the cell phone.. the changes you make on your computer are updated on your phone when you go to the backup assistant on your phone and click "Backup Now".

Depending on which plan you are signed up for it's either a free service or a 1.99 a month.

The address online is www.verizonwireless.com/backupassistant.. Edit, Print, add.. etc.
