Some of you may remember the saga of the PC card: I have Verizon wireless internet, accessed by a PC card. Problem was, my laptop doesn't have a PC slot. :ohwell:
So today I went into the Verizon store on 235 to tell the customer service rep my dilemma and ask if they had a USB card. The lady said, yes indeed, and credited me the original purchase price of my PC card toward this new little USB connector.
:cartwheel
And, on top of that, there's a $50 rebate as well! :yahoo:
So I'm mobile again!
Good, now get the hell out of my driveway. :smack:

I'm glad you got better customer service than my friend did. They told here there data card work with any laptop. I guess the sales rep didn't know that all laptops don't come with PCMCIA slots.
I'm starting to think Sprint/Nextel is better nowadays. Their network is getting better! I swore by Verizon Wireless until I kept getting dropped calls. I'm starting to use my work cell phone more often because of better signal.

Sprint Nextel sucks. Every single call - DROPPED!
I love Verizon Wireless.

My Cingular went to AT&T on June 19th and there is no change in service strength.
If the person I am talking to is also on a cell then I still lose my calls in two major areas in St Mary's. 1)South on 235 just pass the barn in Hollywood (after HyperSpace) until the end of Wildwood Shopping center. 2) Either direction on Pax Bch Rd at the assembly church until I cross the light onto 235 or cross the Solomon's bridge.
There definitely is something knocking those calls out but I can't imagine what.

verizon is the best service, but some of the phones may not be all that great which can cause dropped calls.
Customer Service in the stores blows, but if you call up there, they will help with whatever you need, the people in the stores don't know much, but the people on the phone can get all the answers for you.
Whenever I need something, I call up the phone service get them to help me, and put a note on my account, then i will go by the store, say "hey, look at the notes on my account" and I'm out the door with no trouble :).

I thought the customer service was great a few weeks ago when I went into Verizon. I had to get a new phone b/c I put mine in water. I still had two weeks left before I was due for my upgrade. Well no you can up grade 4 months prior to the ending of your contract. I don't have problems with dropped calls. Nextel sucks azz, my ex husband has nextel and just about everytime I call him I can't hear him or the call gets dropped. I know it's not my phone b/c I"m calling from a land line.

Our company is switching from Nextel to Verizon this week because they have dead spots around the beltway & in DC. You would think they would have excellent service in the Capital of the most powerful country in the world but nooooo.... (Nextel lost a boat load of $$ on this)

I love Verizon Wireless. :yay: Have had Verizon Wireless for 3 years and have never had a dropped call. In fact they just combined my wireless account with my regular account and saved me another $25. And now I just get one bill for all.

So having the combined account saves you $25 every month. Or was that just a one time savings for signing up?

So having the combined account saves you $25 every month. Or was that just a one time savings for signing up?Nope. I've had both accounts for several years and they called me and told me I could combine them and get one bill. Same service. Now I do have their internet service also, regular home phone, and wireless. I think you may have to have the internet service to save the money, but all I wanted was to get one bill a month from them.

I guess I didn't listen very closely to customer service regarding charges for Verizon DSL... I swear she told me, there would be a one-time charge for the modem, well I was wrong! :ohwell:

I had Sprint Nextel for two years, about 30-50% of my calls were dropped.
I haven't yet had one dropped call on Verizon Wireless, two months in. :larry:

Its hard to find a new laptop that has a pcmcia slot anymore. Work gives us pcmcia verizon cards . So the slot was a must, had to get a dell d820 in order to get a pcmcia, express and a true serial port.
