Yeah it is still alive and I'm trying to keep the cats away from it til dusk to see if it will fly off.
I have a bathouse in the back yard but, i've never seen any bats in it though
I wanted to take more pics but, if i keep poking around it the cats are gonna notice it.

You like them because they are the best insect control mother nature can provide
Here is a cool link I found a few years ago when I was trying to attract them to get rid of squitos. http://www.batcon.org/home/default.asp

Thanks for the site! Now I'm looking at the pictures and freaking myself out. I'm scared of them but at the same time, they are so cool.

Wear some gloves when you move it...

A red bat was found at Baltimore Zoo 2 weeks ago with rabies....

Moved it to the pear tree.
Brought the cats in
Used all precautions, Inkpen.
It is what I believe to be is an adult red bat
Friend of mine said the don't get very big and don't rehab well.
I will check to see if he has left in the morning, if not  I think there is a rehabber in Lusby?? Inkpen, is Noah's ark up toward Annapolis still taking them? Or will any one take them for that matter?

I called my Dad who likes and knows about bats and snakes :barf: He said he's pretty sure it has rabies as it was putting itself around human scent and he mentioned something about foxes getting rabies more rabidly spread during droughts :jameo: :jameo: I think I was correct in my first assessment ... Eww!!! Kill it!! :jameo: We as humans should not see bats during the day, let alone sleeping at the door step on the ground by cats :jameo: Luckily everyone is up to date on rabies but this little bat was just nasty... it's leg was stuck and injured from the door opening or something and it just crawled - we had to use tongs to get it away from the door and free it and it kept hissing and spitting :ohwell:

The following day the bat was gone from the pear tree that I put it in.
I am assuming it flew of cause I couldn't find it anywhere.
So there you haveit :diva:
