His parents blame the shoe. I blame the parents. This is a 4 year old riding a piece of machinery designed for adults and people with half a brain. When you get to the top or bottom as the case may be you are supposed to step off, not let your foot slide into the "comb" at the end of the machine.

Kids have to be taught to ride these things and they need proper supervision.
If the parent that was with this kid had been properly attendant there would have been no problem. Escalators are inherently dangerous for the inherently stupid.

If you cannot supervise your small tykes on the escalator then stay the hell off it, take the elevator or the stairs.

mmm yeah, gonna have to agree that theyre pretty ugly. No matter how many people say how comfortable they are. It's like the big bangs of the 80s tho.. It was hideous but everyone was doin it, so they were ok! (some still are... )
