I have a Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard and an optical mouse connected to my HP Docking station via a KVM Switch (all USB connections) . This past week I had to have the Motherboard in my HP laptop replaced. After getting my laptop back I've reinstalled the drivers for my keyboard and mouse, but the keyboard intermittantly stops working and the only way to get it working again is to reboot my computer. I didn't have these problems before having the Motherboard replaced. Any thoughts? I'm doing some research on the KVM switch now.

Next question, why are you using a KVM switch??

And the BIOS updates.. if the Motherboard is the only switch, I would assume it's a driver for your MotherBoard that is the problem or the BIOS.. If I remember correctly the last MB I bought had a seperate USB software upgrade (non BIOS upgrade if I remember correctly)

I have a desktop running Solaris 10 x86, so I switch between the two.

I would also bypass the KVM, plug everything directly into the dock, and see if everything works ok.. If not, then it's the computer/ MB.. if it does then it's the KVM..
