Is there a way to turn it off?

I think you have to download the toolbar.

Info I found on Google.

Highlight: Highlights terms on the page you're visiting by placing a color bar over it. Each search term found on the page will be highlighted in a different color. Click the highlight button to toggle highlighting on and off.

Iv been playing with it You can turn it off only after clicking on the link then you have to refresh to get rid of the color bars. It turns itself back on on the next search. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I think the java script is blojsom Im gonna search how to kill it there.

IE?

I heard of others that have had problems with the Google Toolbar. I don't use it. I don't use IE. Firefox rocks!

I use Google and the highlight function is fine on IE6.
I click on the "Marker pen" and them turn it off...no problems here...
Left click to turn it on...and left click again to turn it off...just one click..

Other than that, I am clueless Dan....

Merry Christmas!!!

Inside the google search box - you have the "G" with the down arrow next to it?

Click the "Down Button" and go to "Manage..."

This should bring up the "Toolbar Options" window - go to the "More" tab...

Under "Find in page" uncheck next to "Highlight"

See if it stays and it does not highlight...
