Go outside to your phone box, unplug the line plug a phone that isnt cordless into that, if it works the problem is on the inside or the house and if it doesnt work more then likely its on the outside. It makes a big difference because I was told when my phone was acting up that if its on the outside they pay and if its on the inside you the consumer pay.

Phone was working fine yesterday and then all of the sudden wasn't.
The box was tested last night and I think we had a dial tone, but was having the same problem. I found that I can call out in "pulse" but they still can't hear me.

I don't care who has to pay, I just need a phone before the 4th.

More than one phone? If so, the problem is Verizon's, and you're stuck waiting for them.

Not that it will help, but is it possible that the cord from the phone to the jack has been damaged? If you happen to have an extra laying around, it might not hurt to try that. Good Luck!!

It took me three mounths to get my dsl fixed . A billion phone calls . The phone tech that finally got it working said he is very embarrased with how verizon cant fix anything properly now a days due to red tape.
Example.. He goes out to fix a problem, finds the cause, calls and says this line is shorted , bypass to such n such and it will be good. In the old days they would do so the tech suggested and all would work. Now adays the tech request is sent to some engineer in indea were it gets turned down and told to be fixed by a differant method and guess what. It still dont work.

ok, let me put my 2 cents in to this problem.

If it has not already been suggested...

Unplug the problem phone and plug in a corded phone, not a wireless phone, try it and see if that works.

Regardless of what happens, the fault is in the phone. If you get a dial tone, then there is no issue with the box or the phone line. If you get a call out, and people can't hear you, but, you can hear them, this backs up the claim, the phone is at fault. If said issue was in the phone "lines", you would not even hear the dial tone.

Thanks,
Dodgem

Not true at all. Bad info. I work with many lines coming into the building for our phone system. The digital (yes, digital) data card the phone line is plugged into can fail, and I have seen MANY MANY lines exhibit this problem. The card out on the street usually needs to be reset or replaced. You can get a dial-tone but not be able to dial out. You night receive incoming calls, you might not. There may be a high-resistance open on the line which allows a dial-tone, but not a ring, which take 45 volts and more current.
