Here's a screenshot of a GOP web site doing its part to spread smears about Barack Obama. Pathetic and transparent.

Oh for the luv of....

This is just a reprint of an email that has been circulating for months and subsequently was proven false by Snopes.com.

If you choose to vote or not vote for someone it should be based on their known record not some unfounded internet rumors.

Right but the point is it is still being disseminated by various GOP sites as News. See the date on the picture. BTW, it has just been deleted from that site. I'm sure it will pop up on other other sites as well.

I got that email from a relative just this weekend and sent a reply telling them to actually read what Snopes.com had said about it.

You would think they'd be trying to dig up fresh dirt about opponents rather than rehashing mud that has already been widely discredited.

...of fairness, you're probably outraged by this;

Siege Heil: The Bush-Rove-Schwarzenegger Nazi Nexus and the Destabilization of California (http://www.commondreams.org/views03/1006-08.htm)

George W. Bush's grandfather helped finance the Nazi Party. Karl Rove's grandfather allegedly helped run the Nazi Party, and helped build the Birkenau Death Camp. Arnold Schwarzenegger's Austrian father volunteered for the infamous Nazi SA and became a ranking officer.

Together, they have destabilized California and are on the brink of bringing it a new Reich. With the Schwarzenegger candidacy they have laid siege to America's largest state, lining it up for the 2004 election.

...yes?

Gee, a whole half hour and no comment. Quelle surprise. :lol:

At least the GOP site has the decency to remove their erroneous crap. Lefties just keep the lies going.

You're an idiot, copy and past the url from your alleged "screenshot"
Republican Clark County Washington, Party County Official Site www.clarkcountygop.org (http://www.clarkcountygop.org/display_news.htm?nid=349)
Does it look the same or did you assume one of your communist friends was capable of telling you the truth?

...yes?

I'm no fan of conspiracy whack-jobs on either side of the political spectrum. The sheer lunacy of their theories make others who lean right/lean left look bad. I've heard rumors about Aahnald's dad having cooperated with the Nazis, which would be believeable given the times he lived but still rumors nonetheless. The rest ...well I don't like Rove or Bush, but puh-leeze! :lmao:

He did say it had been taken down. Perhaps the person who originally posted it got a nice little talking to from their boss about posting email rumors as fact?

See the date on the picture. BTW, it has just been deleted from that site.

Hey! Gimmie a break! I've been busy designing a birthday card for my Grandson.
Priorities, you know!

Can't argue with Larry's post. The left is just as guilty of spreading BS as anyone else. Also, the "Nazi" tar brush is tiresome at best.

...lunacy? A good bit of what that link says about Obama is true as is some of the allegations about GOP'ers.

Point is; what does it have to do with the person in question? Is Arnold behaving like a concentration camp guard? Is there things he's done, bad things, where we can point to his dad and say 'a ha!'.

Same for Obama. What's wrong with asking if his dad was Muslim? Maybe it means something, maybe it doesn't. What about Barracks record, things he's done? His drug and alcohol use tends to make me worry less that he's gonna raise the crescent moon over the Whitehouse.

Can't most of us trace ourselves back to something bad if we try hard enough? Does that make us bad?

I wish we had more frank talk rather than this endless pursuit of proving ourselves born of a virgin with perfect pasts.

I'm always surprised they don't talk more about Obama's brother and tribal connections.

The candidate already has heeded his church's "nonnegotiable commitment to Africa," spending an inordinate amount of his campaign time on the Kenyan crisis, for one. Obama has close family ties to Kenya, and even founded a school in his ancestral village — the Senator Obama School.

In the bloody conflict there, which already has claimed some 700 lives, Obama appears to have sided with opposition leader Raila Odinga, head of the same Luo tribe to which Obama's late Muslim father belonged.

Obama's older brother still lives there. Abongo "Roy" Obama is a Luo activist and a militant Muslim who argues that the black man must "liberate himself from the poisoning influences of European culture." He urges his younger brother to embrace his African heritage.

Beyond family politics, these ties have potential foreign policy, even national security, implications.

Odinga is a Marxist who reportedly has made a pact with a hard-line Islamic group in Kenya to establish Shariah courts throughout the country. He has also vowed to ban booze and pork and impose Muslim dress codes on women — moves favored by Obama's brother.

With al-Qaida strengthening its beachheads in Africa — from Algeria to Sudan to Somalia — the last thing the West needs is for pro-Western Kenya to fall into the hands of Islamic extremists.

Yet Obama interrupted his New Hampshire campaigning to speak by phone with Odinga, who claims to be his cousin. He did not speak with Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki.

Would Obama put African tribal or family interests ahead of U.S. interests? LINK (http://www.ibdeditorials.com/IBDArticles.aspx?id=285292746454291)

...why should any of that be off limits? Or his pastor;
