Ah I don't want to cheat. I was just looking for tips. I can't shoot for crap  I am all over the place hard to zero in. What really sucks is when I am running around blasting away (and hitting nothing) and some guy comes out of nowhere and shoots me in the back of the grape

I have not played Halo but I would start off with something easier than the 'live' format. Once you go into 'live' you're facing the 10-hour a day shoot'em up nerds just waiting for some fresh meat to stumble into their projectiles. Practice a bit.:yay:

it is essential to pull the ‘left trigger’ to bring the gun sight up.
Don't know if this is the right answer or not.

Join a few peeps on here for a "local" game, that way nobody cares what's going on and you'd have some time to learn the controls a bit better prior to going into that huge nerdfest. :lmao:
If you play through the game's single-player portion you should feel pretty comfortable by the time the game ends when it comes to the controls.

The crosshair is wherever you point it, the problem is the gun is off to the right in a kind of offset thing. I think it is more a visual thing because the crosshairs are seperate. I guess I need to try harder to ignore the gun because it really means nothing and focus harder on the crosshairs. The joystick that controls point is some kind of sensitive. I see a target and try to bring the crosshairs and go too far -------------> then try to get it back and go too far <------------------ :lol So while I am going swinging frantically back and forth trying to lock them up someone runs up and shoots me :lmao:

Left trigger is also throw a grenade. I know this because I was standing next to a tree and went to do something and accidently threw the grenade which bounced off the tree, rolled back to me and blew me up. :killingme

Boy has a 20 year old half brother in Maine. He was on last night and created a team thing. Because he is a level 3 million general the team the thing matched us up with 2 generals and a bunch of other high players. I got killed 17 times BUT I did get 1 kill because I ran around and saw somone not looking and I did a Kamikazi run from behind.

If you press the right joy stick it will bring up a scope sight type deal but as soon as you shoot it disapears. That is the closest thing I have found.

You should be able to go into your setup and change the sensitivity of your controller. I'm sure your son can show you how. I had my "Look" sensitivity set too slow so by the time I was able to swing around and get my sight on someone I was dead. The one key thing to do, and it takes lots of practice, is "Keep Moving". The longer you stay in one place the sooner you die. You need to learn how to shoot on the run.

I have figured out the keep moving thing. I also have learned to lob a grenade through a doorway before running in
I will see if I can adjust the controller because it is wild. Last night it pizzed me off because a guy saw me and ran straight to me. I put the crosshairs on him and shot him for a good 5 seconds while I was running backwards and he didn't die. He got to me and shot me once and I croaked. :ohwell:

The shotgun is awesome :yay: The mauler is good too, hit em with a quick blast followed by a melee and it takes them down almost as fast as the shotgun.

What is this "mauler"? I am not into that whole melee thing. We did a sniper team v. team and I did good. I like being able to hide, shoot, move. The pink gun thing that shoots the spikes is good but I can't manage to actually kill anyone with it.

I learned that one too. Unfortunately I get carried away and B too soon and am not close enough or miss. I beatdown a couple but most of the time I miss and they hit me and I die. I also found out that if you are using a pistol and you hit the B it pistol whips them instead of the elbow. :lmao:

I actually assasinated a guy last night. I was bobbing and weaving and running from cover to cover trying to flank the other team being very cautious. I ducked around a corner and there was an opponent with the chain gun thing hiding behind a log or something with his back to me. I freaked and started trying to sight him in waving the sight back and forth wildly when it dawned on me............why shoot him from back here so he can turn around and mow me down? So I put the sight on him, ran right up to him and elbowed him in the grape :lmao: I was so pleased with myself I took too long savoring the moment and got sniped in the melon. :killingme

One of these threads from when we first started playing has screen shots in it. it's always fun to save a picture of when you killed someone.
Do they have a support group for Halo addicts? We played Halo for 10 hours Friday, 11 Saturday, 10 Sunday. Like a couple of video geeks we sat on our couch in sweats, nappy hair, staring at the screen, exaggerated dodging movements, screaming, grimacing, celebrating, bloodshot eyes, and the 1000 yard stare. I am shooting red team members in my sleep, my thumb hurts and I still cannot shoot worth a crap. :lmao:

We have abandoned Halo and are now getting wild on COD4. Much better game than Halo for me. I am almost a Brigadier General :lmao:
Not fond of the GC36c, even with stopping power it takes too much to kill.
The SAW with double tap is a riot but it dances around when shooting so much it is useless.
M-16 rocks.
AK-47 rocks.
G-3 surprisingly is a nice weapon despite being semi auto.
Dying from a random grenade toss sucks.
The "click-click" sound a claymore makes just before it goes off and blows you butt cheeks off is sickening.
Happiness is sighting in a sniper from 300 yards away who is looking at you and getting your shot off first. :lmao:

Welcome to the dark side...
I am still not good at the "snap shot" during a close encounter but give me a little separation and I do OK.
I get blown up by grenades a lot. Sometimes I can't help it, a martyr grenade in a tight space and I can't get away, or the cooked grenade tossed in randomly and I never see it in time.
I like to lone wolf, the rest of the goobers go head on and I circle around and wait for the flank. I got 7 guys in a row trying to get around behind us.
The thing I dislike is the lack of communication. In Halo they talked all the time, in COd not so much. It seems they just try to run around and kill when a little tactical plan would be great.
I got the "multiple kill" with an RPG the other night. I got killed by the helicopter and respawned, got out the RPG to shoot at it and noticed I respawned right next to the building all 5 of the other team were in. I ran into the room among them and shot the floor. I bought the farm but I took 4 of the 5 with me. :killingme

Yeah, I have started using the hybrid move the entire character left right in addition to sight movement. Stopping dead still and slewing left and right was fatal.........for me :lmao:
I can't imagine playing with a mouse versus a controller.
