For all of you who use Chancellor's Run....
I AM NOT COMPLAINING! I'll be thrilled to see this road improved, it really is dangerous!
BUT.........the crew from Connecticut is here and underway. They have set their little base camp up and are prepping for equipment to arrive. I'm hoping they have a good plan of action in placed to avoid too much turmoil....we'll see! Talked to the Poject Manager and they're ready to get underway.

They purchased an old house between Greenview West and Norris Rd. They've got all their computer stuff in and they're excavating now. They didn't state a date, but they are here on a contract and look like they plan on getting in and out ASAP....again, we'll see.
I drive that road everyday to take the kiddos to daycare and I have seen them out surveying every morning so I knew they had to be close to getting started

What are they going to do? Add a couple of lanes?

Far as I've heard. I know they're taking a chunk of property from all the lots that line up along the road. There's a train wreck between Buck Hewwitt and Norris Rds...Hopefully that will be fixed!

Constant choppers and sirens there, although the signs have helped a little. The AGONY of this construction will hopefully be worth it with the end result.

Making a right turn from Buck Hewiit then left to Norris is like playing a Russian Roulette. Been rear-ended there once by an unattentive mother trying to take care of a baby on the back seat. Daughter got rear ended there too not too long ago.

That is a bad spot. They're off set just enough to screw everything up. They'll probably line them up and put a light there.

Yes, I feel soooo sorry for anyone that has to do that everyday, I just drive through it

A light there wouldn't be a bad idea but IMO it would only be needed at certain times of the day

Dual lanes all the way from 235 to Great Mills Rd. A median that varies in width from narrow to wide enough for left hand turn lanes off CR. Pedestrian sidewalk and a bike lane on both sides. 5 new lights, Hickory Hills, Greenview Knolls ES, Buck Hewitt & Norris Rd(Norris is being re-aligned w/ Buck), the Park entrance and Peggs Rd. All other side streets on both sides of CR will not be able to make left turns across traffic - they'll have to turn right and go to the next intersection to u-turn. So it's a fairly extensive rebuild. Also i think they are raising the flood area near Fox Chase and putting in a new bridge.

Geez it takes me 30 minutes now to go from Town Creek to Stallman and back and I am only going through 1 light. It also sounds like they have so much to do that it might not be done before my child starts school.

They are adding lanes, a middle median, and I believe two more lights.

Now you know that would make way to much sense to do that:whistle: Kinda like the "merge lane" at the end of Great Mills Rd. and Rt. 5.:bigwhoop:
:smack:What were they thinking when they planned that?

A Bicycle lane would sure be nice to have on CR.
Then all the bike riders who wear black clothing at night would be out of harms way.

I almost bought a house on CR many, many years ago (late 80's). I liked the house, but when I saw the plat and saw how far the right of way came into the front yard, I decided to keep looking. I can't remember which house it was, but it had a garage that had been converted into a large room on the right side of the house. Sound familiar to anyone? I thought one of you may live in the same house.
I've often thought that I passed up a cute house for no reason. Glad to hear my fears, way back when, werent unfounded. Folks are going to lose a big piece of their yards.

First home we owned here was off Nancy Lane. It could take 15 to 20 minutes sometimes to get out onto Chancellors in either direction. So glad we sold it.

The first time i was ever heading to Chancellors Park for a softball game i decided to take that shortcut....obviously a bad move....I waited forever...
What topped it off was after I finally got to the stop sign, an Expedition East bound who obviously wasn't watching where it was going, flew sideways into the ditch on the right side of the road because it didn't see the stopped car waiting to turn on Norris...I thought it was going to roll...alas, it didn't.

One of my grandsons goes to Daycare off of Chancellor's Run and you really can sit there forever waiting for the traffic to die down so you can get out onto the road - especially at night. Even with 5 lights these changes would have to be an improvement over what goes on now!

That would be a great idea. Hook it up with the proposed bike lane under the power lines by 235.

Heres a tidbit for you, and an information request. Talked to METCOM, they plan to extend public sewer down to, and into, Stallman, but no farther south.
Now for the request. I recall, maybe 6-9 months ago, there was a small fuss from the folks on Cirlce Drive and Nancy Lane about a new subdivision that had gottem approved just south of them, doesnt anyone have any info on that? Cant find the article, it specified the number of houses and townhomes planned. METCOM hadnt heard of it.
