"If you are the Sierra Club, what would you call a senator who: a) voted against oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge; b) introduced legislation to cut greenhouse gas emissions; and c) co-wrote a 3.5 million-acre statewide wilderness bill?

Answer: the enemy.

In the past two weeks, the Sierra Club has sent out two news releases and four e-mails to its members attacking GOP presidential candidate Sen. John McCain. It has urged members to "spread the word" by writing to local newspapers.

"Let's place thousands of letters in papers around the country," the club said. Two such letters have appeared on the pages and in online editions of the Seattle P-I."

Does seem kind of hypocritical to line up against a person who shares the views your own group advocates, doesn't it? Here's a man who agrees with them on the issues they exist to support - and they're opposing him.

"The Sierra Club appears to have let blind partisanship trump honest advocacy," said David Jenkins of Republicans for Environmental Responsibility.
Well, there's a shock.

Well, there's a shock.

That's generally true of women's advocacy groups in politics.

Its no greater a shock than the New York Times praising him one week and running a story about a girlfriend the next.

Sort of felt the same during the Clinton regime when Feminist (N.O.W) remained strangely silent during the whole Monica debacle. Had it been a Republican with sexual transgressions I can imagine armies of feminist with torches and pitch forks at the steps of the White House. Hypocrisy is a strange bed fellow.

Well, there's a shock.

And another shocker for ya.

Since making its first presidential endorsement in 1984, the Sierra Club has increasingly come across as an arm of the Democratic Party. The hits just keep on comin. :lmao:

I dont believe NOW has an Army. There are only 2 or 3 hundred ugly frigid dykes who belong.

My figures could be a little off, lets say 1/2 of 1% of New Yorks population.
