Could anyone recommend an Avian Vet around the area?
Dr. Hocking, who use to be at St. Charles Animal Hospital, moved to Calvert and is not longer accepting new patients.

Thanks!

I take all my critters to All Kinds Vet in Callaway. Adam takes excellent care of my parrots and my daughter's hamster. His wife usually handles the "normal" housepets such as dogs & cats. They are also reasonably priced. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

I used to take my African Grey to: Fairfax, VA - Rose Ann Fiskett (Potomac Valley Vet Hosp) - 703-425-7387

She saved his life, I can't remember which avian disease he came down with but I have no doubt that had I gotten him to Dr Hocking (he was at some seminar) he would have died. At the time All Kinds wasn't around, but I am not as comfortable with them and neither is my parrot. He usually more stressed after being there for a wing trim than he ever was after leaving Dr. Fisketts office.

I only left because she appeard to get more interested in the $$, insisting on giving the bird a $200-$250 yearly checkup.

I'm thinking about getting a larger bird (Sun Conure, Cocktiel, or even a Macaw) and was researching this just yesterday. Found South Arundel Veterinary Hospital / Home (http://www.southarundelvet.com/site/view/99039_Home.pml)
in particular South Arundel Veterinary Hospital / Our Doctors (http://www.southarundelvet.com/site/view/99674_OurDoctors.pml) Christy Shoup, D.V.M. A bit more of a drive, but would consider expertise vs. distance
