Family claims police broke man's arms, threw him in lake...man who ran from cops drowned when he failed to swim.
Will the FBI do an investigation to set the family's mind at ease?: I guess the last seen with the victim is always the #1 suspect.

It's fresh water in the lake.
Dead bodies are best in salt water where they can attract crabs :yay:

From the Baynet...
Information was also obtained by speaking with a friend of Hall’s that he was driven to St. Mary’s County and dropped off at a “Blimpie” store located in Lexington Park.
Maybe his higher up drug connections tossed him in the lake.

Why are FED'S going to look into it?
Because the family will sue Calvert County and probably anyone else they think they can because their "angel" wrongfully died and it wasn't his fault........
Don't you know he was getting ready to turn his life around? He was just about to pay that child support.
But the cops broke his arms and threw him in the lake. Or they chased him into the lake and knew he couldn't swim and they didn't help him. Wait, I think I read somewhere that the cops shot him and left him there to rot. -- How he got in the lake at that point is a mystery. But the family just knows it was the cops that did something to him and now he can't live the life he was supposed to. :blahblah: :blahblah: :blahblah:

This is the biggest bunch of crap I've read here in ages, and boy is that saying something.
Look folks, anyone with the criminal history this man had, who chooses to run when police show up, for whatever reason, should be the object of your suspicions, not the police.
Why in God's green earth would the sheriff's deputy have any reason to kill this man? break his arms? leave him for dead? There is no reason whatsoever! Why would anyone ruin their career over this person? They didn't know who he was; they weren't out looking for him, at the time.
His family claims they heard splash in the water, but they didn't bother to go out and look for him, so how concerned were they?
Broken arms? How would anyone know? Some reports I've read claim the family hasn't seen the body and doesn't know where he is (duh, medical examiner's office!). No official ME report has been released, just how would anyone know the arms were broke? Moreover, there are a lot of ways to break one's arm, most seem more logical to me than the police did it... running thru the woods at night is dangerous. The arms, if broken, could have broke when the body was removed from the water.
Long story short, no one here on this forum knows what happens. It's crazy, immature, and just plain stupid to start calling for Federal investigations on something like this. Let the official medical reports come out to find out how, when, and where this man died.
Frankly, this post is a sad display of low-life criminal thinking. The man was a piece of shait drug dealer with a guilty conscience that ran when he saw law enforcement. End of story.
Anyone who's willing to stand up and shout from the roof tops the police are racist murdering pigs when they know NOTHING about what happened only shows their own ignorance.
Please, shut up!

all kinds of fish, crappie, blue gill, catfish, and bass, i have caught one right around 7 pounds, and many in hte 4-5 range, although many days you wont catch anything bigger than 10 inches.
BTW, i live on the lake and i dont care one iota about this guy. the people i talk to basically have said he chose his own fate.

I was just reading the comments on the baynet for this story, and someone named "TABI" goes on a rant about this being a cover up and conspiracy by the police b.c "Fink" was a good man and a hell of a Father. Wait, so let me get this straight, he's wanted for non payment of his child support, AND, assault charges, but he's a hell of a good Father? Man I must be missing something. Ok so maybe he was at the party to get all his money together to go pay that outstanding support and become that great man they all knew he was. Then when the police showed up he was so excited to go pay it that he decided to run as fast as he could through the woods to the courthouse? Yes, that must be it!!!! Man I gotta move to Lusby!

there are lots of places back where they found him where you could fall from a bank 8-10 feet above the water and land in 2-3 feet of water.
Since this is a man made lake its also full of stumps and other debris to bang your head on.

Oh, don't be silly! He wasn't there to collect any illegal money. A good man would never involve himself in such activities. He was probably just trying to change all the crackhead's lives around by lecturing them about the dangers of drugs, perhaps he was about to even lead a bible study when the cops showed up. I'm sure he was an  :sarcasm: I've said it before - if the cops show up to a house I'm at (or my house) and I'm not guilty of any shady activities, I'm not running away. If I were to run away, then I take fate into my own hands. Personally, I'd be afraid of being shot.
But of course, it's always easier for the family to blame others (usually the police) instead of admitting that fate always wins. He got what he had coming to him. It was only a matter of time and his time was up.

I've noticed over the years that nobody ever goes on a rant about how the "victim" of a police "fill in the blank" or violent crime "again, fill in the blank" was a mean spirited dung eating, jackass who deserved to get what he or she had coming.
They are always a good "fill in the blank", who helped little old ladies across the street and took care of stray animals, not to mention; a great family "fill in the blank".
What a crock.

Southern Maryland Newspapers (http://www.somdnews.com) ‘‘What happened was, Friday night, deputies went to a call for a loud party or possible drug activity in the Ranch Club, and when police arrived he fled the scene. He wasn’t told to stop” because deputies had no reason to detain him, Evans said. ‘‘... He called people from the woods at 2 in the morning, and said he was hiding from the police. The next day, his mother said he’s not answering his cell phone. And then he popped up last night.”
Sounds like the bonehead stumbled into the lake and got himself dead.

I dont' think that ME report is going to make things any clearer. People have made up their minds all ready as to what happened.
I made a phone call to someone who I knew would be at the search, she says there's something weird about the cops telling them not to search a particular area and that it was not like him to not have called someone if he were in some sort trouble.
The truth is, there is no truth but the truth you know and that's not always what really happened. I don't think this will be any different than the Sapp or Pickeral cases.

Well obviously there are differences. Like Claudia Pickeral wasn't a drug dealer and Sarah Sapp was a white woman.
I meant that given the police involvement, family and absence of witnesses, there's really no way of finding out the truth. We could have predicted what the family was going to say and the police would never admit they did anything wrong, and I wouldn't say they did.

Of course not. They'll try to find any reason to blame the death of their "good boy" and "perfect father" on anyone but him and themselves.
Something that many people don't understand is how difficult it is to keep something secret, especially when it gets too complicated. All it takes is one person with a conscience and everything unravels.
In order for this to be a conspiracy, it means most of the CCSO, the ME office, the fire department, his cell phone provider, and the MSP have to all be in on it. No way can you keep that many people quiet.

There are so many rumors going around by the press and concerned citizens. I would think the Sheriff of Calvert would place all involved on ADMIN leave with pay and give a press conference to the citizens until the smoke clears so he can put peoples minds at ease. And this is were the FBI comes into play to do their investigation because they are not part of any conspiracys of a small town like Calvert County.

Uh, no. If he put the officers on Adminstrative leave, we would lose officers that we need. Also, if he did this then people would think the officers did something wrong. Why should we lose valuable police resources because some family is making up crap so they can blame the police for the death of this man.

There was not a shooting. There is not one tiny shred of evidence that anythng happened other than one idiot got himself dead.
People like you are trying to make this into something it is not. There is no reason for an outside investigation. There is no reason to suspend a cop that wasn't even in the neighborhood when this bozo got himself dead.
Your paranoid conspiracy theory is absolutely idiotic . You need to take your meds and stop posting until you get your schizophrenia under control.

Please!!! I'm sure what Dad meant to say is "how is he supposed to pay child support if he's dishing out all his money to the many charities he supports b.c he's such a stellar example of what a giving person should be!!!
Um, and Mom can claim he was "retarded" but if he's smart enough to know how to have sex and make the baby then he's smart enough to say "Welcome to McDonalds can I take your order". And what kind of a Mom are you if your son is "retarded" and didn't know right from wrong but you let him out of the house to go to a party?
This claim that the cops broke his arms and threw him in the lake is almost as good as the thread from that idiot woman that complained b.c her sister wanted to bring her son to her wedding with all his "beeping machines that keep him alive" LOL. Wait, were they from the same family???!!!

A little bit from the article in St. Mary's Today. I usually hate reading their trash, but this is interesting.
Now hear the complaints from the family of Lamar Demetrius Hall.
Hall's aunt says that Hall was wanted for failure to pay child support and he knew police had a warrant for him and that was why he ran. She said that when his body was found he had two broken arms, according to family sources, which is about the equivalent as getting news from Iran's government. She also complained that the police wouldn't let his mother see him before "shipping him off directly to the State Medical Examiner". She said that the family had heard directly from a deputy on Saturday that the officers had heard a splash when they were chasing
Hall through the woods on Friday night.
Sheriff Evans confirmed that the officers who responded to the house for a loud party knew that
Hall had a warrant issued for him, only after arriving.
Police are ordered by the courts to find the men who refuse to support their children, leaving the mother of their child high and dry and worrying about how to provide food for their baby.
Sheriff Evans was asked why his officers didn't call out a dive team on Friday night and he said that they had no reason to do so, that they had heard no splashes and on Saturday they had a report that Hall had been spotted in St. Mary's, which the family said was a report from "some crack head".
The Sheriff said that all bodies are sent directly to the Medical Examiner upon recovery and his deputies did not break Hall's arms and thrown him in the lake.
This story is a tragic one for the mother of Hall but once again shows the insanity level which reaches throughout the Southern Maryland society and once again the problem of "Rooster" males willing to make babies but being unwilling to pay for them. The government pays for the babies and provides Section 8 Housing for the mother hens and the roosters come back and forth and when the police show up they run.
Hall's aunt said he wasn't a angel but didn't deserve this. What he got was his own making due to running from his responsibilities. Now he leaves the mother of his child holding the bag, the taxpayers paying the freight and his mother grieving for his lost life.
His aunt reports Hall was a good swimmer.
Had Hall gone quietly with the police, the 26-year-old man would have been able to get out of jail in a couple of days, get a job and pay for his kid. Now his family will likely pay plenty for a nice funeral and no one will pay a thing for his child.
In the meantime, fine young officers are being portrayed as breaking Hall's arms and dumping his lame dead body in a lake.
This preposterous load of horse manure is outrageous but don't look for Hall's family to bother to apologize to the deputies that they slander.

On Saturday, Martha Tate called police to file a missing-person report. She had not heard from her son, she said, and her gut told her "something was wrong." He was a good swimmer, she said, adding that he would have called her if he had successfully evaded police.
She and her husband searched the woods all weekend for Hall. She said she eventually lied to police, telling them her son was mentally retarded, so they would intensify their search efforts.
The Post has a good article, complete with a not so good pic of Mike Evans.

The autopsy was probably done later that day or first thing the next morning. the medical examiner would have done the autopsy/examination and taken the necessary tissue samples needed to determine a cause of death. They probably
have a preliminary cause of death. They just haven't announced it yet. The toxicology reports probably won't be back for a couple of weeks. The plot thinkens?:elaine:

So his parents obviously have no issue with the fact that their son was deadbeat dad. They allow him to live there at the age of 26 (with no actual job), when he should be out on his own like an adult. His father defends him for not paying child support and they admit that he was "always running from the police to avoid jail" and have no problem with that?
This sure explains a lot - we can now clearly see why he was such a loser. His parents never taught him an ounce of responsibility. Great job, Mom & Dad!
Oh, I forgot to mention....Great job Grandma & Grandpa, too! Nice to know that they don't give a rats azz about their numerous grandkids that their son had with various mamas. :loser:

Not really. This "Raven" idiot did spread an unfounded rumor that the cops had killed this guy. He and others made up things like his arms being broken, the cops pushing him in, and ignoring the sound of a splash. He tried to make somebody who ran from the law into the victim of police brutality and racial prejudice.
Aren't there enough problems with race relations without "Raven" trying to inflame the problem by spreading lies?
