Why is it every other operating system in the world connects to the internet through our wireless, EXCEPT Windows Vista?
What do I have to do to get this Genuine Windows POS to connect? I'm out of ideas. :nomoney:

Vista REFUSES to get any DNS information, and it won't let me manually input DNS information. :burning:
Microsoft needs to take this POS and shove it up their asses!!! :tantrum

How old is your router? I had to replace my 1 yr. old router with a vista compatible router. Check that and see if that could be the problem.

Vista compatible router?
Is Microsoft really this ignorant that they make their OS require some special router?
Apparently, the hardware's not XP compatible either.
I swear Microsoft had some conspiracy in this to make Vista work with nothing to "stimulate" the technology sector by forcing people to have to buy new printers, routers and anything else.
VISTA SUCKS!

Mine did too but it kept losing the signal. Drove me absolutely nuts. So I called Linksys and that's what they told me. My router was not compatible with Vista. Had to go and get a new one. Then I proceeded not a week later to completely wipe out Vista on that new computer and put in a new copy of XP. Runs like a dream.

Now that I've had Vista awhile, I have no issues with it. Not the most user friendly program but I can get by.

I haven't heard if the new hardware resolved the issue yet.

Apparently, this is the problem. Vista uses a different IP and DNS protocol than XP. So, it does need a different router.
I ####in' hate Vista.

Andy, there's bios update you can download from hp.com, that apparently has a fix for this problem. I was able to talk to a gal in Nova Scotia(right!), and she guided me through this update.
So far, it seems to work. Oh, Vista still is a PITA, but you can learn to live with it.
