yep, i'm rehashing this issue again.
it is now late summer and with all the rain we've had, my lawn looks like a mud pit. after going to the POACRE office to inquire about the possibility of getting some fill dirt to alleviate the water drainage problem through my front yard, and getting nothing but lame excuses from the POACRE 'road manager', i've decided to ask for help from anyone who reads this forum and is experiencing similar problems.
i would like to look into the feasibility of getting residents of CRE, who are tired of paying annual road fees and extra property taxes for these roads, together and sue POACRE. maybe a lawyer can tell me what is needed for a lawsuit. i'm not sure if a class action lawsuit applies.
my home is a major investment and i don't think i could sell it if i wanted to with the way the storm water drains through my front yard. as i drive through CRE, i can see that there are others that have to be experiencing similar problems. CRE wants to transfer road maintenance to the county, and the county would be foolish to accept this, the way these roads are.

Mine is bad, but not THAT bad. I live at the bottom of a hill, but the house is still higher than the street so more water runs off my property, than through it. But my storm drains are non-existant. They've all filled in an grown over. I know that the folks up the street from me have tried a couple of times this year to fill the drains with large stone, and steel netting to keep teh stone in place, but it hasn't worked. The new homes are continually having their driveways wash away just up from seahorse beach.

You know... it seems to me that you should be talking to the POACRE Board about this....

There has been some discussions of registering to vote to get a bigger voice going to the County and State Governments too... are you registered to vote in the upcoming elections in Maryland?

The County Commissioners have a committee called the Common Ownership Infrastructure Committee that was supposed to work on just this sort of problem... The committee (COIAC) has been waiting for their charter since 2002. CRE actually sent at task force to the Committee to shake the tree recently but the committee can't do anything without a Charter...

I would also suggest that you call the office and ask to get in touch with Becky Tice... she's going to run for Commissioner ... she is just plain tired of the nod and ignor going on everywhere....

CRE Roads is always a current topic... It should be a daily conversation until the situation becomes a non issue....

The commissioners need to know that about 18% of the county population lives in CRE and roads are important....

A Charter.... A Charter.... was that a lot to ask?

Replant your lawn in kudzu instead of grass. That'll soak up all the water and grow out and block the street and solve everything.

The HOA will beat you senseless for that and then charge you mileage to get to you.

You are getting a lot of static from people that have never heard the continual dog howling until the owners come home and other CRE issues that are valid. They are not County issues and they won't get you elected. You are presently in a position to do more to resolve those problems than if you became a Commissioner. I would like all the commissioners to be from Drum Point and CRE but if the platform is that narrow, it won't happen. Think bigger.

the roads here are just atrocious! i'd love to see a breakdown of just how the yearly homeowner fees are being spent!
i've called NUMEROUS times about the road around my home only to have them spend money and resources on dirt that washes away after one rain. unreal. if they would just use that money on actual asphalt once - i'm sure it would be less than dirt over and over again.
