I live in pomfret, md on a road called "ABC Farm Place"
For the past 2 months I've been trying to convince Verizon that they provide DSL service there, 2 other people on the same road have it. Verizon would not give me a yes or no answer after I called them 10-12 times, GRRRR.

Do I have any other options, what providers do people use in the area?
I know Comcast is not available.
Does anybody know a local verizon phone number where I don't have to go through 4 prompts and wait for 1/2hour?
Sattelite is the last resort option, its slow and expensive.

Please help me out.

Thank you,

Boris.

Try a EVDO Air Card from either Verizon or Sprint. You can try it and if you don't like the performance you can return it. 59.95 per month. Much better than the Satellite option.

There isn't much signal for either carrier in most parts of Pomfret. Maybe he will get lucky.

ISP Directory - dslreports.com (http://www.dslreports.com/dosearch)

Try here, you may find another ISP that connects to your CO.

Is it possible you have a METRO prefix like an 870 number? I think I remember hearing something like this...
