We had bad luck with 5.8s, lots of interference, its locality dependent. We finally found the DECT system, works great.

I have the Panasonic also, have had them for a long time and have not had any problems. I gave them to my daughters and they haven't had any problems either.

I agree with a previous response. Panasonic makes a very dependable wireless phone. We've had our system for four years without a problem.

We also havent had a home phone in a couple years now. There is no need. My kids have cellphones too. Just another bill to pay.

Depending on your cell phone plane it could save you money. I have had VOIP for 6 or 7 years now and at $25 a month it saves me about $15 a month.

The last two sets I had before my Panasonics were VTech and they are crappy phones. This last set my husband got from BJ's and paid more for it than the Panasonics and they died before a year was up. I will never buy VTech again.

We haven't had a land line in almost 10 years. We do have Vonnage, though, on account of "Can you hear me now?" can't. Had it for 3 and a half years now w/out too many problems.
