I am having to have not only my M1710 worked on again, but now my sons 1525 has to be worked on too, It's only two months old too, they are replacing both our motherboards, (this is the second motherboard in mine) they are replacing boys, battery and charger too. They are replacing both my memory sticks and my touchpad AGAIN!
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM DELL!! I no longer recommend them for anyone for anything! They are cheap and will not do anything to make me happy. I am beyond PISSED! :burning:

Wow. I feel bad for you. I have not experienced problems with my Dell computer (knock on wood).

Sorry to hear that, i would definitely raise hell if i were you, where i work we support 700+ Dell Desktops and laptops and have had few problems and at home have 6 Dells, 3 laptops and 3 desktops and have had only one hardware failure and that was a disk drive, that died. and they range in age of 2 years old to 5 years old.

that has been my experience also except we have close to 20,000. that is why I think it is of a supernatural nature.

One of our divisions used Dell, and really the only major issue we had was driver level revisions which caused issues that looked like hardware failures, 'specially with battery functions. The company as a whole has now gone to HP. Haven't had many issues, but I'm just not as thrilled with those as I was when we were using IBM Thinkpads.

I have raised hell! I've screamed, yelled, cried, begged, yelled, cried some more, threatened them with a law suit. NOTHING has worked, all they want to do is replace parts. This is the 2nd M1710 that they have given me. I am going crazy!

Wow, all we run are Dell's and we are having one laptop (out of about 100) giving us a fit... come to find out is was the power adapter - there is a known problem with them which throws the Blue Screen of Death. I need to find the article on it.
Even our desktop's (over 600 of them) we have an occasional failure here and there - our servers are rock solid...

What kind of work do they require? All I've owned for about 10 years is Dell and have had hardly a problem. I've had desktops and laptops.

Well today tech came out and replaced my sons motherboard and battery and power adapter and his computer is only two months old.
A tech is going to come and replace my motherboard for the second time and replace my touchpad for the second time and they are sending me a third set of 2GB of memory for a total of 4GB. This is my second XPS they have sent me and it is only 4 months old. This is ridiculous, I have gone through this shiat for over 2 yrs. since I bought the first XPS. NEVER again!

Yeah I have a 4 to 5 yr. old Inspiron 6000 that I have NEVER had a problem with. These 2 others suck wind! My Inspiron Desktop that I got last year has been fine, knock wood. But not these two pieces of shiat! It just makes me crazy that here I am stuck with this damn thing and I paid 4000.00 for it before I did the upgrades to it and it breaks if you look at it crooked! They won't even freakin consider giving me a discount towards the purchase of another computer. Not that I want another one of their products. I told the manager last night when I had to call about the XPS again that I had to buy another computer to replace it because it was not reliable and he didn't say I'm sorry or anything, he just totally ignored me. Clevalley has offered to trade me an Optiplex for this XPS and I keep telling him no because I wouldn't wish this biatch on my worst enemy! Sorry, rant over, I need a drink! :otter:

I can relate. My boyfriend and I both have Averatec laptops which are both having issues with the touch pad, keyboard, dvd rom, screen, and his it seems the power supply finally crapped out. Although, I think his power supply crapping out may have something to do with him never giving it a proper dusting.
I wish I could just send it in and them give me a new one, I've had so many damn problems. What baffles me is why I'm having issues with it, while my parents both have the same exact type of computer with little to no issues. My mom just has a pixel-thin cyan line running vertically through the right side of her screen, which doesn't cause any real problems.
