I am trying to create an text logo that I can use on my website and I really want to create it using a particular font.

I downloaded this font to my computer and saved it to my C:\\windows\fonts folder. When I look for the font name in that folder I cannot find it.

I also downloaded the file to my desktop so I was sure it was actually downloaded, it is a zip file if that has anything to do with it.

Anyway any suggestions as to why I can't locate this file?

Also any suggestions as to the easiest way to create a text .gif image logo?

Installing Fonts in Windows : MyFonts (http://www.myfonts.com/support/help_install_win.html)

The fonts need to be "installed" before they can be used.

I wouldn't use a GIF, actually. JPGs have better image quality, and if you're going with something animated, save it as a PNG, which saves transparency and quality.
