yes...there is another thread recently posted about this same issue (within the past week?). I'm guessing it's under this section. Take a look there, we threw around some ideas. Hopefully that'll help.

Get rid of Vista :shrug:
He tried, its an HP that was built for Vista and it had horrible problems with drivers. It was him or someone else on this forum anyway. :confused:

My laptop has VISTA and it has a lot of quirks.
Does anyone else notice your personal settings readjusting a lot?
And IE has been an on again/off again issue (previously discussed).
There are blutooth compatibility issues.
And, the several options for shutting down (sleep, hibernate, stand by, off), aren't really functional - additionally the system will shut down and do an "improper shutdown" on start up on its own???
I give my laptop a lot of leeway. It's pink so figure she's female and temperamental. It's the only way I don't toss it! :lol: j/k

If you are talking about window size, resizing and other goofy stuff like this, yes, there is a fix for it... we have been waiting for MS to release one, but found this. Save the contents of what is in the quote in a .reg file, right click it and select "merge" - or just double-click it and it will toss in in the registry... reboot and you should be fine.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\BagMRU]
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell]
"BagMRU Size"=dword:0000c350
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Bags\AllFolders\Shell]
"FolderType"="NotSpecified"
Also, IE7 and VISTA can only download a MAX of 2 items, or 4 in HTTP 1.0 - here is the registry fix for this (do the same as above);
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings]
"MaxConnectionsPerServer"=dword:00000010
"MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server"=dword:0000010
If you want to add IE7 icon to the desktop;
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HideDesktopIcons\NewStartPanel]
"{871C5380-42A0-1069-A2EA-08002B30309D}"=dword:00000000

Are you talking about IE7 and the associated errors?
I am a little foggy today (bit of a cold).
Also, I have two different machines. A Dell desktop w/XP and IE7 and now have a lot of new "Electronic Software Delivery and Management" files (software products) downloading from the site. I'm having installation issues, but I think I have to call India for help. :frown:
And I have a laptop (Dell) with VISTA and IE7 (thinking about going with google Chrome) and having the issues mentioned in previous post. I also hate that it displays safe IP addresses to use every fricken 10 minutes but, as we all know, VISTA (don't know why I always capitalize it) takes time to figure out.
I've figured out hiccups on XP online that I've yet to encounter in vista :lol: and Kyle is useful to have around as well :lmao:
But, if I weren't so lengthy, I'd say, "Refresh me on the disable the updates, please" :lol:

Just copy the entire contents of what is in the quotes, including the 'Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00' and save it as;
filename.reg <- filename can be whatever you want of course.
There is no need to download the registry editor...
