If you're not sure if you're registered or not, here's the link:
Maryland State Board of Elections (http://www.elections.state.md.us/)

Under Important Headlines, there's a link to check and see if you're registered, and where your polling place is as well.

It links to a University of Maryland website. I'm a little troubled that it's not a secure site, but other than that, good resource.

Yes, registered when I was 17 and haven't missed an elction yet.

Age: 18. I was in the Navy, and that was one of the things they made sure we did, was register to vote. I missed 2 in the intervening years; once when I moved here - though I did send in an absentee ballot to my home state, and once while on westpac. I'm fifty *cough*cough* something *cough*cough* years young, and intend on voting come hell or high water.

Good on ya! I wonder what the age difference is in non/and registered voters and registered voters who make it to the polls regularly.

Hey Larry, make a poll. I'm too busy today but I'll check in later. :flowers: <---real ones

I will be voting but it pisses me off how Maryland counts votes....Dems will take the state AGAIN........and I will not go into what areas are to blame coz we all know.

I've worked the polls before and been a poll challenger in St. Mary's and the votes are counted and witnessed by reps from the political parties and reps of the candidates. You're right that MD will most likely be a blue state but that's how the totals add up. Just as some states are red, some will be blue.

Because I feel like my vote doesn't count..........MD always goes blue.

Because I feel like my vote doesn't count..........MD always goes blue.Well, that's because of the Electorial College (winner take all) system, not because of MD. If we went by the popular vote, your vote would count towards the overall national total but (as is often pointed out) we are a "republic" so your vote doesn't count.

Ok...I have lived in 5 different zip codes in the last 2 years and none of them seem to show me as registered, yet I know I am (voted last election) registered. Any idea what I can do to verify it?

Tony, Tony, Tony. I can't believe that you said that. It isn't the electoral college that dictates that it's a winner takes all, it is the Maryland legislature that made that determination. Maryland could award the delegates by election district but it doesn't desire to do so. Don't blame this on the electoral college, place the blame were the blame is do.

Call your county govt. office, or go in person before the 14th to re-register.

I do wish we'd go the way of Nebraska who awards by congressional district. Even so if someone lives in a CD that always goes blue and they vote red, they'd still have a feeling of their vote not counting because of the winner take all Electorial College. The lowest level a state can award electors is at the CD level (not election district) since that's what determines the number of electors each state gets plus one for each US senator. So, yes the MD legislature could improve things by changing how MD awards electors; however, the winner take all Electorial College would still prevent a voter's vote from counting towards the overall national total.

I had a problem with my registration last year. My registration card said St. Mary's, but I was actually registered in Anne Arundel County (never lived there before). It took all of 5 minutes to clear up so I wouldn't worry too much. :yay:

Don't forget the under-ballot. Local and Statewide elections don't necessarily go Blue. Steny Hoyer needs serious replacing but Republican and independent votes that stay home won't do that, will they?
