...hooked to my computer!

I can now record all those old record albums and burn them to cd's! I know that this is not new, but it's new to me!

I have replaced lots of my records with cds over the last few years, but some REAL oldies I have never found on cd. My grandfather was GM of a local SOMD radio station years ago, so between my mother, sister and I, we have lots of records that will never be produced on cd.

Oh, that crackly, popping sound of a record!

what did you use?

I have about 300 vinyl albums, and my record player is broken.

edit: also, what genre did you record? I love old, hard to find, vinyl.

Bought a set-up through Amazon 'bout a year ago. Comes with turntable, cables to hook to the computer, and a program called Pyro.

In the time it takes to spin the record, plus ten minutes to break into tracks, I've got an old record album on cd - waaaaay too cool!

Lots of diverse genre - Leonard Nimoy was the first to get burned to CD - Mr. Spock singing...hahahahahahahahaha!

I was in BJ's yesterday and saw a USB turntable for this very purpose in case anyone is looking to pick something up local. It was on the endcap by the computer stuff..
