Yes, this is in the computer forum....

There is something wrong with my cookies, I think. When I go to websites like this one where it should automatically remember passwords and log me in each time I visit, it's not logging me in. I actually have to REMEMBER IDs and passwords. :bawl:

This just started after firefox updated itself a couple of days ago. I checked, and explorer isn't giving me the same problem, but I don't use that much, and I have very few passwords saved in IE.

Under firefox's options to remember passwords, it is turned on and I can see that it has passwords saved for many websites, but it's not automatically logging me in.

I have my settings to accept cookies until the expire, but the only cookies that are showing are from the last 5 minutes or so, since I opened firefox to come on here.

I also have Norton 360 installed, but if that were the problem, I would think it would affect IE too.

:cds:

This is happening to me too. I can't use AOL browser to get onto the forums at all. And when I use IE, I'm constantly having to log back in. :ohwell:

Have you tried turning OFF the option (without deleting the password list), and restart FireFox, then turn the option back ON and restart FireFox.

When Firefox updated, it might have cleared your cookies.

When Firefox updated, it might have cleared your cookies. That I could handle, but it's now clearing them every single time I log off and I don't know how to make it stop.

I had the same problem. Jump over to: Fix Firefox Does Not Save, Store or Remember Password On Some Sites Permanently for Always Auto-Complete » My Digital Life (http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/08/16/fix-firefox-does-not-save-store-or-remember-password-on-some-sites-permanently-for-always-auto-complete/)

Follow the procedures and it will even start saving your Yahoo, PayPal, etc. sign-in information.

I found my cookies!!! :yahoo:

I went to a firefox specific forum and described my problem. The answer I got was that my cookie file was corrupt and they told me how to fix it.

Terrif! Can you post either the resolution or a link to the forum page ? I like to keep little tidbits like that handy...

Another possibility is the file that stores cookies may be corrupt. To test this close Firefox, go to your profile folder (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles) and rename cookies.sqlite to cookies.tmp
Restart Firefox, log into those sites and then see if it remembers the logins.

Sounds like it is just the websites expiration of the cookie

firefox cookies expiration - Google Search (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rlz=1B3GGGL_en___US213&ei=PKfYSsfaB8qX8AaAw4y3BQ&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&ved=0CAgQBSgA&q=firefox+cookies+expiration&spell=1)

However, the previous solution didn't work this time, so I'll try this instead.
