Staples or Best Buy?

They seem to have a sales event every week.

$ ?

You can go online and see the prices and whether a particular one is available at our local store.

Sure it's the monitor? Does the PC stay up and running when the monitor dies?

Of course $, I don't think Best Buy will take yen or pounds. Or were you more interested in the barter scheme?

As long as you don't try to double clutch :gossip: like Elmer Fudd, it's all good. :smoochy:

I would certainly have to have some long arms for that.

Speaking strictly distance wise. :huggy:

I like Best Buy (California, MD). Personally, I've never had an issue with anything at the store. They're quick to match prices (so, I'd look at Staples, Circuit City, Target and WalMart - if you see one you like and Best Buy carries it then have them do a PM) and very helpful.

One of the managers said (about me) "He'd buy groceries here if we sold them."

I love that store.

Go look at Target, or Walmart first. Best Buy are rip offs and they will stick it to you in the end if something goes wrong with your brand new monitor. Trust me I read the fine print I know. Or BJ's if you are a member, Pawn shop, Marks electronics, I would buy from him, just never bring him something to fix. I can't think of anywhere else local. Good Luck! :howdy:

If you are going to replace, go with a flat panel instead of a flat screen. the flat panel takes up less space.

Wouldn't be surprised if she meant "flat panel." Too many people are taking the two terms to be synonyms nowadays.

:roflmao:

We were just in Office Depot - they were having a killer sale on stuff (pre-holiday).

All the standard places are good as well, WalMart, Target, Staples, BestBuy CircuitCity... but of course you cannot beat online. If I had to buy right now it would probably be one of the Office Supply places or electronic shops, then WalMart/Target...

yes, i put an old klunker one on it and I can get on my pc now. I'm wondering if someone didn't turn the thing into sleeper mode somehow, and i don't know how to get it out of that...it worked fine before my neighbor turned it off, and not the PC. :frown:

Guess i meant Flat panel, not screen. My bad.

I bought the whole shebang at BJs but didn't know they sold monitors separately.

I bought a Hannspree 22" LCD monitor at Best Buy for $198. Nice color, decent response time, looks wonderful on my desk. Also has HDMI connection.

Hannspree is really big over in Europe and down in Australia. They're not to common in America, but they do recieve pretty good reviews.

They are nice, I bought my mom a small ladybug or apple shaped tv last year and she loves it.

There are only about 6 major manufactures of LCD panels used for computer monitors; Samsung, LG (2 top ones), Sanyo, Toshiba, Panasonic, and 'another that is slipping my mind'...

Chances are if you buy an off name monitor in the US, it contains one of the 6 major players above - more than likely it will be an LG though.
