If your a hardcore gamer, what you need to look for is the amount of RAM and the video card. That looks sufficient enough to run games, but, it's a laptop. Be aware that your battery will most likely drain faster than normal.

No hardcore gaming.
I was told to pick out a work laptop for home use, at a reasonable price.
Now if I actually use it at home for work, we shall see.

Should be fine, just make sure you max out the memory...

I have a Sony Vaio laptop at home - model number is VGN-FZ140E. I've had it about a year and have had no problems other than with the Vista operating system it came with, which I hate. It has 2 GB of RAM, a 200 GB hard drive and can run games just fine so the one you're looking at with twice the RAM and a bigger hard drive should be more than adequate.

The video card is not dedicated. You are going to have very very low fps unless you put every recently released game on low settings and resolution.

If you have the option to upgrade the video card to be dedicated....do it. Then you will have a very very good machine.
