So I thought I would ask here before I deemed my desktop worthless. I have had this PC for maybe 2 years. I thought my monitor crapped out on me about 6 months ago. So I hooked another monitor up to the tower, worked fine since and now all of a sudden it doesn't work. I just tried tonight to hook a 3rd monitor up, still no luck.
When turning on the monitor, the green light will flicker and then switch to orange with no power running to it. However, when I unplug the monitor from the PC, the testing window pops up on the monitor. Then I attempted to try to connect my laptop to the tower and I think it confused the laptop and I have accomplished nothing. I think the PC is the problem. The fans are working as I have checked, but I am unsure on how to check the inside such as the motherboard, video card, etc.
Any suggestions on troubleshooting this?

Just to see if I understand correctly...

You are hooking mutliple working monitors up to your computer and nothing is happening?

What kind of desktop is it? What is your video card? If I were to take a guess, your video card is dead. Which, could be as simple as opening the case and checking to see if the power supply for the card is connected. If it is not, then go ahead and plug it in. If it is...then my guess is the video card has failed.

Some more information would be helpful.

Ignore my post. Turns out I am a goober and forgot about the warranty I purchased. A technician will be coming out to resolve my problems. Support said it sounded like the motherboard anyway. :yahoo:

Any suggestions on troubleshooting this? You're over-monitoring it. Let it work on it's own. :killingme
