"A month ago, the newborn was found alive in a trash bag in the Takoma Park area. She died later that day, and her mother was charged with murder. No one stepped forward to bury her, so Prince George's County police officers gathered yesterday morning to do so themselves."

That is sad. Awesome of them to step up and bury the baby.

That was very nice of them to do something nice!

You hear such negative things about PG Co cops. I'm glad that something positive can be said now too.

That is so heartbreaking. I could never understand why anyone would abandon a baby. Wonderful of the officers to care for Maria, RIP.:huggy:

Very touching and heartbreaking story. Kudos for the PG county detectives and the funeral home for reaching out and giving Maria an appropriate burial. :flowers:

Especially with MD Safe Haven laws....

depressing, but nice that the cops had some heart about this.
