Whenever you are experiencing a Forum Slowdown. If you are board and want to know whether it is on your end or the forums or somewhere in between. Do This.:
While standing on one foot. Shaking your back end.
Click Start> Programs> Accessories> Command Promt
Then enter "tracert forums.somd.com" and click enter.
You end up with a bunch of mumbo jumbo like we have posted.
During serious fourm slowdowns have seen 3 asterisks on one line and a reattempt made to route through that hop.
I don't know what all the numbers mean exactly. GWGuy would likely be better able to explain it.

I really don't worry too much about it it the forums are just a tad slow. But I have seen them take a couple/few minutes to load. That is when I will run this tracert deal. Then I copy it send it to the appropriate person.

Sounds like several officers looking for what I'll call an emotionally distressed missing female. They are tracking her from her Cell Phone usage. Working Sotterly Road area now. Also The bridge and Hotels at Solomons

Got it now. I hope she's okay. I hate that kind of stuff.

Sounds like they are letting a few officers go from the search. I did not catch the beginning of this so I don;t know the urgency of it. All I know is that several officers work working a search area based on her Cell Phone Transmissions. They can triangulate that stuff and come up with possible areas to search.
I think they are going to probably ease up and release a few officers and most likely one will try to continue and the others will assist if anymore phone calls are made.

 'splain what? Greek to me......
:lmao: Basically, it's the time in milliseconds that each network router or computer takes to receive and forward the packet. Each line is a different network node (router or computer). The exchange of a packet from one node to another is called a hop. The more hops, the longer it takes. Sometimes one node tries to forward a packet, but cannot find the correct destination due to a DNS (Domain Name Service) error. That's where you get *, or a timeout. After so many timeouts, it gives up if the node cannot find somewhere to forward the packet. Very high millisecond delays means slow loading, timeouts mean even slower loading or the dreaded 404 error on your browser.
