All right, this is crap. I just spend several days putting thousands of pics on my computer so I can organize them and put them back on CD.
My disk drive was acting up, and now I can't open it at all.:frown:
So I go borrow one from a friend and swap them out. I opened the replacement drive once, took the CD out closed it. NOW THAT ONE WON'T OPEN!!:tatrum:
What do I do???:jameo: I need to get these pics on disk before something happens to my PC and I lose them all:bawl:

This is going to sound weird, but go to your device manager and uninstall your disc drive then reboot. It will find it automatically and reinstall it. See if that will work. Other wise you may need a new drive. If it is for a laptop I can help you out, I have a spare one here. Just let me know.

It's a desk top and I've found no trouble with the installation of the hardware. But isn't weird that both drives did the same thing?? I was thinking a shorted wire oor something in the connection cable or something blocking it from opening. Once the disk is in it works fine.. The drawer just won't open.

You could always switch out the ps to it.

Just a question, have you ever taken it apart and blown out the dust and such? Sometimes that will cause all kinds of weird things to happen. Also I have had spyware of all things cause mine to misbehave. Try running your spyware detector in safemode and see if it picks up stuff. Just use safe mode, not safe mode with networking. If that doesn't work try cleaning it out. It is odd that they both did it at the same time. I would think spyware more than anything. Hope this works! :yay:

Ok, like I said spyware can do all kinds of weird things, so can dust. There is a pin hole that you can use to get it to open, but I would try these things and see if it helps. Spyware is some nasty shiat!

I take my pc apart once or twice a year and clean it out, but this time it was extra dusty. That's all take care of.
Anyone know how to open the drive up? I can get the back off but I see nothing that directs me to getting the actual drive part open.

There should be a pin hole on the front of the drive that you can stick a pin in to get it to pop open. Of course that depends on how new your system is.

A safety pin will work or a needle.

SPYWARE!! Run your spyware and antivirus software in safe mode to get rid of all that crap. You should be good to go. Then do a defrag to be on the safe side.

I didn't ask for the tool bar, I don't even know how it got there in the first place.

Hello, is this thing on?
You most probably have spyware. Run spyware cleaners and antivirus in safemode.

Did that. I also have a error popping up when I start up that says it can't load Progra~\Mywebs~1\bar\1.bin\m3plugin.dll
WTF? It would be easier to email the pics so I can load them on my laptop. I hate to junk this PC the last person who looked at it said it was too good to trash:shrug:

ok sounds like a virus. Go to trendmicro.com and run their free virus scanner, hopefully it will pick up whatever it is. If not then you may end up reformatting. That's a bear, got three to do myself this week. :bigwhoop:
Doesn't sound like a virus to me. Sounds like either
A) You uninstalled a program incorrectly, now it's spitting out disk and registry errors
B) An uninstaller didn't fully uninstall a program.
Try a system restore to about two or three weeks ago and see where that gets you.
