Handsome guy needs a home. Only information is.....Mastiff type!! mix??

Hi,
We have this big boy Gunther here at our shelter. He was picked up from a vacant building. He seems sweet but we would like to see a rescue group pull him and place him. We don't know anything about him but he was shown to a family with children and he seemed to do well with them running and playing. Due to his size though he wasn't appropriate for these children as he doesn't curb his enthusiasm. If you can help please contact me.
We would like to get him out as quickly as possible.

Maybe that's what they thought they were getting when he was a pup and they changed their minds after seeing what he actually turned into.

I'd bet he's got Boxer in him. His back end looks Boxery. :biggrin: He actually doesn't look all that much bigger than Biscuit..maybe the head is more Mastiff.

I'm loving not working right now..of course I'm on vacation and getting a paycheck..but I sure could stay home and take in more pups!

Wish we could help but we have a resident who's not doing well. He's getting the majority of our attention until he leaves us. Just not sure when that may be.

OMG! He is gorgeous! I wanna meet him! We have been looking for a new family member for a few months now. What shelter is he in? Is he on petfinder?

We are leaving tommorow for Georgia, until Monday or Tuesday. We've had a death in the family, but I hope he is still there when we get back.

His head looks like a lab to me. Why wouldn't there be a South African dog here? There are Siberian Huskys.

Not dissing any rescues but I've seen a lot of mutts called some "off brand" pure breed by Tri County, etc. I just think he's either a really large Boxer..a Boxer/Mastiff mix or something along those lines.

It would be easier to maybe tell if there was a profile pix of her but I'm not to good at determining breeds.

Now - if I could just get the wife to move out I might have a chance (and room) to bring him home. Afraid he may eat the corgi's for lunch though.

If someone goes to get him - see if maybe we can arrange a new set of boots for the handler ! Looks like they are about to run out of duct tape.

I think they are different in the head/face. With these dogs, it's a guess. I have a rescue pup who I've had for about 11 years now. No vet or other can tell what she is, Heinz 57 poster girl!! She is the BEST pup.....

He wasn't in Southern Maryland, he was in Baltimore, so there's no telling where he could have come from.

Yep, I thought I heard the owner tell someone else what he was so I went and asked to make sure I heard right.
