How much can I expect to pay, to have a broken axle replaced on an 01 Cavalier and how long would it take a mechanic to do the repair?

I had a bent axle replaced on my GMC Sierra. $795 at Southern tire in the Park. New seals, didn't need a new bearing. Took a few hours.

This was a single one-piece axle. Figure way more if you have a split-shaft with CV joints.

It was a little UDNER $100 to have the axle replaced. Luckily, the axle itself was covered under Man.warranty.

My old first car had a broken axle too and it cost me around $500 at the time to replace it. It took a day to get it replaced.......

My girls 96 has over 170k miles on it and still going strong. Most expensive fix so far was to replace the A/C compressor, and the rest of the work to get it done, $200 for the compressor, evaporator and lines, and $200 to have it all installed. In the past 4 years i have replaced the alternator, brakes, air filter and 2 tune ups. Its been a great car for the 1500 she paid for it.
