View Full Version : Metrocast Customers
Realized my Internet was extremely slow this afternoon so I called Metrocast @ 1-800-633-8578.
After pressing 4 then 2 I got a voice recording advising all Maryland customers were experiencing connectivity slowdowns and they has Technicians working on the problem.
And now back to your regular broadcast schedule, :lmao:
Yeah, was wondering why my stuff was going so slow. It's slowly getting back to regular speeds though.

I have had no internet since shortly before noon today. About 4:30 I was on the phone and lost the connection there, too. The tv lost the signal but it is back now and the phone works. Internet is still sketchy. Works for now...?
Mine is back up as well. Still seems to be a tad slow
Thanks for saving me a call to Metrocast. Internet was out all morning. I just got it back around 4. It seems to be running normally now.

Even if you did try to call their customer service line, theyre not answering for what ever reason. Not quite the 24/7 internet customer service they promised.

Yep, our digital cable went out (within the last minutes of a movie hubby was watching)....Metrocast is frustrating to say the least.

Mine is finally working and faster than it has for the past 3 weeks. I had been suffering incredibly slow performance to a few sites and multimedia downloads were terrible. Could not even download email from GMAIL for days...

My Download speed just improved now as well. At least as compared to earlier today

Mostly back to normal here, too. If you think Metrocast is bad, you shoulda had the service GMP Express before it was bought out. Now THAT was bad. There was a good 5 week span at one point with extremely heavy packet-loss. Talking about getting 56k speed at best with tons of disconnects. Basically got the finger when that happened too. Besides that 1 month span, you could expect the problem at least a few times a week. Metrocast has been amazing in comparison imo.
Even funnier, GMP Express had burried the cable lines at my home literally 2 inches deep in the ground. Often times the cable would end up being exposed after a storm or just over time. Had to call out techs to fix the line more times than I care to count. One of the times the tech messed up the phone lines, too. I was receiving my neighbors calls and vice versa. When Metrocast moved in, the problems were all solved. Uptime has been great so far!
No, I don't work for Metrocast, but I sure wouldn't mind it out of college. :P

I got a busy signal for over 2 hours when I tried to call. I hate Metrocrap, but can't get Verizon where I live:cds:

:yeahthat: I figured something was up when I got no answer. I shouldn't be surprised; we are moving and when I was working up the deal at the new place the sales person didn't know the difference between a modem and a router. They also said I could keep my old vonage number, but then after the deal was closed, told me I could not. They have the monopoly.
All that doesn't happen with DSL. :snacks: I think because you are used to the slowness?

No, I'm used to fast speeds all the time and connectivity 24/7.

You've intrigued me...what speed are you getting now? My experience with DSL at my inlaws has been very subpar to say the least.

Dunno, you be the judge, and I get these speeds 24/7 because there is only one person using my line, not hundreds, or thousands.
Had to retest my speed cause something just did not seem right with the first test. This is what I get 24 hrs. a day with NO interruptions.

Oh, well I just got 6891 and 481 respectfully; and while I understand the consistency you are getting to me the irritation (as often as it might be) is worth it for the speed. I telework as a dba, so honestly, it is almost necessary. But I am glad what you have works for you.

Yes it does considering most of the time all I do is surf around and use my messenger service. No need for major speed here. But I do like that it is always working when I want to use my computer. :yay:

I have been having speed issues since the new year and I think they have worked it out. Keep calling if you are having problems. I talked to a guy named Mike at Metrocast in Hollywood; he may be the service manager.
I'm getting close to 6.8 pretty consistantly...
