I am looking at purchasing a Used truck... I can't seem to find a ####ing thing in MD that is worthwhile.
I have lined up/researched 2-5 trucks and they are all based out of Northern VA.
How would I register a truck purchased in VA for MD?
Is that something the dealership handles or do I have to do all the leg work?
Edit: I am buying a new truck for myself... But the truck is going to be a Pre-Owned Truck aka Used.
I know dealers can swap inventory if it is a new (0 miles) vehicle.... Sorry for the confusion.

You have to register it in MD and pay the sales tax for MD. Have the dealership give you the paper work, hire a tow truck and tow it to MD and register it.:cds:

I have purchased my last 2 vehicles out of state.
one in VA. one in PA.
The Dealers took care of everything including taxes and my Md tags and registration. I saw no difference other than the longer drive.

I found my last car out of state (PA) I went to the dealership I was working with told them where the car was and viola! they had it transported down to them. I think they had to do an inventory swap 1:1 type deal. No biggie.
IF the MD dealership wants your money, they are going to bend over backwards for you.

:smack:Had a friend buy a vehicle in FL, dealership was suppose to handle everything, gets to MD and finds out they still have to pay MD sales tax when it was registered. Go to MVA and find out. The state will get you either way, but you will pay sales tax for MD when registered

New or Used?
I know with New vehicles the dealership can buy any dealers stock or swap a car.
I am buying Used.

When dealing with our local dealership to find they didn't have the truck we wanted. We had them go online and do a search of what it was we were looking for optionwise and we found the truck we wanted located in DE.
Our local dealership did all the work and viola! Our truck was here..
Just have the dealership here get it from the VA dealer...
