'Some employees are simply irreplaceable. Take Michelle Obama: The University of Chicago Medical center hired her in 2002 to run "programs for community relations, neighborhood outreach, volunteer recruitment, staff diversity and minority contracting."
In 2005 the hospital raised her salary from $120,000 to $317,000 - nearly twice what her husband made as a Senator.
Oh did we mention that her husband had just become a US Senator? He sure had. Requested a $1 Million earmark for the UC Medical Center, in fact. Way to network Michelle!
But now that Mrs. Obama has resigned, the hospital says her position will remain unfilled. How can that be, if the work she did was vital enough to be worth $317,000?
We can think of only one explanation: Senator Roland Burris's wife wasn't interested.

Oh please
You make it sound like they paid her to do nothing so her husband would send out tax dollars to the hospitil. That implies they're dishonest, lying theives participitating in typical Chicago politics and the only thing they've changed is their address.
... opps, sorry guess it's true.

Now I read that the FBI is investigating Mike Steele.
Where is the FBI in the Michelle Obama case?

It's sad how easily (mis)led you tards are:
Attempting to cut $100 million in expenses, the University of Chicago Medical Center is planning layoffs that could number in the hundreds, the Sun-Times has learned.
U. of C. has not disclosed the final number, but a report citing possible cuts of 500 to 1,000 jobs is "high," a source close to the matter said Saturday.
A layoff announcement could come this week. Last month, several top executives were let go.
Officials have said the hospital plans to cut about 7 percent of its operating budget.

Initially, the hospital is eliminating 15 senior executive jobs, including vice president for community and external affairs, a position that had been by incoming First Lady Michelle Obama. Her duties will be taken over by Dr. Eric Whitaker, a friend of her husband, President-elect Barack Obama, and a long-time executive vice president for strategic affiliations and external affairs.

:whistle:Well sure.... with Obama gone, and Blago's problems pointing out the corruption, a lot of places are probably laying people off, because they won't be getting tax money as easily any more. :duh:
